Six accused of Jayesh's gang arrested under Gujcitok handed over to jail: Two remanded

Jamnagar Dt 29: The five accused, who are believed to be part of the infamous Jayesh Patel gang in Jamnagar and are on a 12-day remand, as well as one on a three-day remand, were produced in court today by the investigating police team. All of them have been ordered to be remanded in custody while one of the members of the gang, who is believed to be currently in jail, was arrested from the jail yesterday and one of them has surrendered before the police yesterday. Both have been granted a 12-day remand pending their appearance in court. Following the order to remand the six accused, the Jamnagar police has filed a petition before the court to send them all to different jails.

Jayesh Patel, who has been notorious as a land mafia for the last five years in Jamnagar city, has filed a complaint with the Rajya Sabha after his gang started targeting most of the builders, contractors and other wealthy businessmen and started extorting ransom from them. After appointing IPS Deepan Bhadran from Ahmedabad as the district police chief in Jamnagar city to disperse Jayesh Patel's gang, the SPA took charge and launched an operation to nab Jayesh's accomplices. On the 16th, for the first time in the history of Jamnagar city, a crime was registered against fourteen members of Jayesh's gang using the Gujcitok law.

Among them are Sagarit Manata builder Mukesh Abhangi, corporator Atul Bhanderi, former policeman Vashrambhai Miyatra, builder Nileshbhai Tolia, Pravin Chowtiya, who is associated with a newspaper, Jigar Pravinchandra Admatiya, Jigar Pravinchandra Admatiya Was arrested. Soon after, Range IG Sandeep Singh addressed a press conference and also announced the names of the ninth accused Jashpal Singh Jadeja and the tenth accused and the ringleader of the gang Jayesh Patel.

In the first case registered under GujSitok, the above eight persons from Jamnagar were produced before a special court functioning in Rajkot seeking remand. Mukesh Abhangi, Praful Popat and Jigar Adtaria were remanded for nine days and Vashrambhai, Anil Parmar, Pravin Chowtiya, Nileshbhai Tolia and Atul Bhanderi for twelve days. After the remand of Praful, Mukesh and Jigar was completed on Monday, they were produced in court where Praful and Jigar were remanded in custody and Mukesh Abhangi was remanded for another three days.

Apart from Mukesh, the 12-day remand of Anil, Pravin, Atul, Vashrambhai and Nileshbhai Tolia, who were on a 12-day remand, is being completed today. Chaudhary, S.S. Ninama appeared in court. Where after the ongoing arguments all the accused have been ordered to be remanded in custody.

Following the court order, Jamnagar police had applied to send the six accused to different jails. The police have submitted to the court to send all the accused to different jails, saying it would not be appropriate for them to gather in the same jail.

During the above proceedings, Jashpalsinh Mahendrasinh Jadeja, the ninth accused out of the fourteen persons registered under GujSitok, who was presently lodged in Jamnagar District Jail for the second offense, was taken into custody by ASP Nitesh Pandey and LCB from Jamnagar Jail on the instructions of SP Deepan Bhadran yesterday evening. Yashpal Singh Jadeja, who was involved and considered a special accomplice of Jayesh Patel, was also remanded in police custody yesterday. While the remand of the above six accused was being completed in the court today, the court has granted remand to both the persons for 12 days.
